French country, mountain style
Classic French Cuisine at 11,200 Feet
Led by Chef Brody Pierce, the kitchen serves classic French country cooking: soupe à l'oignon with veal stock and melted gruyère, duck cassoulet, bœuf bourguignon braised in Burgundy, and a croque monsieur that arrives with a side of fries — all served to guests in ski boots.

An All-French Wine List in Telluride
Curated by wine director Andrew Shaffner, the list is French and nothing else — more than a dozen wines by the glass, and bottles from Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy and beyond.

Your table on the mountain
Ski-In, Ski-Out Dining at the Top of Lift 5
Guests dine beneath a heated thirty-nine-foot umbrella on a deck facing Palmyra Peak and the Wilson Range. When the wind comes up the shelter seats you instead, and in genuinely bad conditions the mountain wins and we close — service is weather-dependent all winter.
How to get here
A table of your own
Private Events and Telluride Mountain Weddings
A long table on the heated deck for a private group through the ski season, and weddings and celebrations up here in summer — the same kitchen, the same cellar, the whole range behind you.

Good to know
Where is Bon Vivant?
At the top of the Polar Queen Express, Lift 5, at Telluride Ski Resort. The printed menu gives the elevation as 3,414 metres — about 11,200 feet.
How do I get there?
Ski-in, ski-out access only. Ride Lift 5 to the door, ski Woozley's Way from the top of Apex (Lift 6), or take See Forever from Gold Hill Express (Lift 14) past Alpino Vino to Woozley's Way.
Is the wine list really all French?
Yes. Over a dozen French wines by the glass, and a bottle list running from vin de France to Champagne, Bordeaux and Burgundy.
Do you close in bad weather?
Yes. Seating moves to the shelter on poor days, and in extreme conditions the restaurant closes entirely. Weather closures are posted on Instagram and Facebook at @bonvivanttelluride.
Can I book a private event here?
Yes, in both seasons. Through the winter a long table can be set on the heated deck for a private group; in summer the deck hosts weddings and larger celebrations, booked through the resort's Weddings and Events team on (970) 728-7447.
What time do you open?
